A look back on First Party Tour Italy Fall 2024

09/11/2024 |

Third time’s the charm : after two editions in France, we brought the success of our First Party Tour to Milan, Naples & Rome for the first edition outside of the French borders. The success continues, with around 50 people attending the event accross the 3 cities.

Why organize a First Party Tour ?

Behavioral data collection on digital devices is currently facing new challenges : data protection regulations now allow the user to decide whether to share or not their data, big tech companies are limiting third party cookies by protecting their own technological landscapes and users are even trying to evade publicity at all costs by using adblockers and privacy-first browsers.

This changes in paradigm force all of us to adapt to a more conscious data collection approach, less intrusive and more respectful of the users’ choices. This is our path : Commanders Act vows to develop Platform X to allow for more and better quality data for our customers, in a fully compliant environment.

This complex landscape raises many questions among digital professionals, and it became clear to us that creating a space for exchanges and debates with our experts to bring out best practices and share them widely would be beneficial. There is nothing better than the proximity of an in-person meeting to brainstorm and share ideas. This is why the First Party Tour was created.

Themes covered during this international edition

After a first edition focused on server-side data collection, we wanted to broaden the discussion to the benefits of First-Party data, the only relevant path as third-party cookies disappear.

Four key themes were explored:

  1. Our analysis of Google’s decision on third-party cookies
  2. First-Party data: A new challenge for your digital assets
  3. New identities, new identifiers
  4. Server-side data collection and personal data protection

According to feedback from the more than 100 participants in the four sessions of this autumn edition, the First Party Tour helped improve understanding of the challenges, identify best practices, and gain expert insights into sector-specific issues.

Next Edition will be dedicated to Media Optimization in Late January 2025

Given its undeniable success, we have decided to make the First Party Tour a permanent event in France and to expand it internationally.

The third edition of the First Party Tour France will take place in late January/early February in the same four cities (Lille, Bordeaux, Lyon, and Paris) and will focus on Media Optimization in a Cookieless World. Registration will begin in early December, but you can already express your interest by email. Also, we’ll be bringing the event to Germany : Cologne on January 21, 2025; Munich on January 22; and Berlin on January 23.
